Rowena is excited to be a part of a team of such lovely and compassionate people! She is a strong believer in working towards creating spaces where youth can be agents of change and transform their own lives and communities. Rowena has a Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) in Education, with a focus on Counselling and Human Development. She also has a Bachelor of Education and is currently working for Surrey Schools.
Rowena has always been drawn towards working with children and youth. She is interested in advocating for children’s rights and working towards understanding and dismantling barriers faced by marginalized youth. Her practice as an educator and a facilitator has been greatly informed by her work with Check Your Head, Simon Fraser Public Interest Research Group, and School for All. Rowena is passionate about learning and utilizing restorative practices in schools to restore and build relationships.
