Position: Full-Time Facilitator (35 hours/week)
Program: Restorative Schools Program (RSP)
Reports to: Program Manager
Start date: August 4, 2026
Salary range: $50,000 to $55,000 plus benefits
Program and Role:
NSRJ’s Restorative Schools Program (RSP) proactively supports youth, schools, and communities in developing restorative approaches, creating just and equitable spaces for learning and living through the Circles in Schools program and Youth Justice Labs. The Facilitator will be responsible for facilitating Circles in Schools, assisting in raising awareness of restorative approaches in schools, and maintaining relationships with teachers and students to support a system of integrated restorative skills, practices, and processes in our partner schools.
Key Responsibilities
● Develop, prepare and facilitate Circle activities and agendas for students in elementary and high schools on a range of topics including healthy communication, values, self-esteem, bullying, social media, anti-racism, decolonization, and youth rights.
● Support the RSP Manager in developing, promoting, and facilitating presentations on restorative approaches as needed.
● Represent the organization at community and volunteer appreciation events and participate in community tables deemed appropriate.
● Attend to administrative duties as required
Qualifications*
● Understanding of, experience with, and commitment to Restorative values, principles, and practices
● Facilitation experience with children and youth, preferably in a school environment
● Empathy and active listening skills
● Knowledge and understanding of current social issues, particularly those facing youth and those with multiple barriers
● Strong organizational and time management skills
● Strong networking and relationship-building skills: must have the ability to work cooperatively with youth, staff, volunteers and other community agencies and organizations
● Self-directed and comfortable working as part of a team in a collaborative work environment
● Excellent communication skillsAssets
● Degree, Diploma or equivalent experience in Social Work, Education, Psychology or other related field
● Training and experience in Restorative responses, especially in the school environment
● Group facilitation experience in Circle processes
● Familiarity with community services and resources on the North Shore
● Knowledge of child/youth development and key aspects of social-emotional learning
● Additional languages to English (fluency in Farsi, Korean or Mandarin would be an asset)

● Use of your own vehicle is required for travel between work sites across the North Shore.
● Ability to pass a criminal record check for work with the vulnerable sector.
● Ability to work remotely and meet online from a private space when not required on site.
